Spring-Rail high density racking is a unique solution to creating density in a warehouse. As pallets are loaded into the system, springs stretch to cover the full length of the track. When the front pallet is unloaded, the trailing pallets are automatically pulled forward. Spring-Rail functions well as a push back system alternative, excelling in three areas where other high-density systems have problems:

  1. Flat loading
  2. Using existing rack
  3. Awkward product sizing

Flat loading: There are numerous industries which require product to be stored flat. The best example is the liquids and beverage industries. When a pallet is loaded on a typical high-density system (like push back or pallet flow), the racking needs a pitch or grade to allow the deeper product to return to the front. This is not the case with Spring-Rail because the system uses the spring’s force, rather than gravity, to return the product. This allows products that risk spillage to be stored cost-effectively.

Using existing rack: Cost is important to every business, so why not use existing racking to help create the density you are looking for? Spring-Rail is unique in that it does not require new rack to operate, thanks to its no-pitch design. In many situations, because the original racking tends to be designed for the current weights, Steelhead can reconfigure existing rack to work with the Spring-Rail.

Awkward product sizing: There are too many industries to count which have product that measures beyond a typical 40″x48″ pallet dimension. A great example is audio-visual storage. The cases used to store cables and equipment are universally stored in wheeled cases and—speaking candidly—can be a nightmare to store with any efficiency. Instead of attempting to palletize them, Spring-Rail can be used to store items directly on the rails, solving the storage issue.

At Steelhead Warehouse Solutions, we are constantly looking to come with solutions to our customer’s storage issues. Bring your issue to us and see how we solve some of the toughest problems.
