Why use Pallet Rack decking?

Installing decking in a pallet racking system adds protection, safety and utility:

Safety & Protection: Decks distribute pallet weight clear across the beams, improving fall protection. This is especially important in the event of split or open cases, reducing the chance that errant inventory will fall into the depths of the racking system. Wire mesh decks can even be combined with safety bars to provide an extra layer of protection. What’s more, mesh decking improves fire safety as sprinkler water can run through the entire system without pooling.

Utility: Decking improves small inventory loading and fulfillment, and unlike traditional shelving, mesh decks do not gather dust while still allowing light to penetrate to lower levels.

Because decking is an integral part of a pallet racking system, Steelhead Warehouse Solutions stocks a large inventory. Installation is easy; decks simply drop into place. And because every warehouse presents its own unique challenges, decking patterns, width, depth and finish can be customized.

WIRE MESH DECKS

  • Structural channel beams

PUNCH DECKS

Punch decks are an alternate and more heaving duty solution. Punch deck is stronger, smoother and flatter than wire decking. Ideal for storing heavy parts, small stacked items and everything in between. It’s smooth and flat surface won’t snag or tear items during loading.
